TYPES OF INTER-PRETATION
TYPES OF INTERPRETATION
Types of Interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation means that what is said by the speaker is translated at the same time. In this case, interpreters sit in a sound-proof box. For guided tours or visits, a portable audio system is used instead of a box.

Consecutive interpretation

Consecutive interpretation means that the speaker gives a speech, the interpreter notes the content of what has been said, then goes to the lectern to present what has been said in the target language.

Liaison interpretation

With liaison interpretation, shorter statements are made by the speaker and then followed up with a translation with or without notes, statement-by-statement.
